1. Issac Toast
Issac toast is a sandwich (Koreans refer this as toast instead) chain in Korea which sells superdeliciousandiswearnowordscoulddescribehowmuchiloveit sandwiches!!!!!
My friends and I were so lucky because one of the franchise is located just below our guesthouse!! One downside is definitely that they don't operate on Sundays though.
The sandwich are of affordable prices, 2k won to about 3k+ won, about the prices of SG's macd breakfast (without drinks.)
I apologize for the poor photo quality/ couldn't see whats inside the sandwich cause I was too excited to eat them up. omnomnomnom.
However I could still describe the taste of the sandwich.
The bread is fluffy in the inside and well toasted on the outside. A (sweet yet tangy) sauce which is made from 3 kinds of fruits will be spread on the slices of bread.
The lettuce used are sweet. Yes you didn't read it wrong, sweet!
The eggs are mixed with sweet corn.
Lastly it would be the meat/ sauce combined. For example a brown sauce would be used on beef patty, and ketchup on chicken patty/ ham, etc etc.
Everything adds up into a perf combination. I swear they are the best breakfast I have ever tasted.
I am craving for it very badly right now when Im typing this post pffft.
Be sure to try this for breakfast if you chance upon this in Seoul!
2. Ginseng Chicken
Ginseng chicken are young chickens stuffed with rice, herbs and ginseng, and this dish has many medical benefits.
In Korea, we had this at Tosokchon, a Korean restaurant famous for their ginseng chicken soup.
Directions: Gyeongbokgong Station (Seoul Subway Line 3, Exit 2)
Go straight about 170m, and turn left into Jahamun-ro5-gil Road.
The restaurant is located 10m ahead on the left.
Exterior of the restaurant.
We were disappointed seeing the queue outside the restaurant, furthermore we visited them nearing lunch time. We were so afraid we have to wait very long to get in, but the restaurant proved us otherwise!
The queue was fast going, and we got in the restaurant very quickly.
Once we were in, we realised how big the entire restaurant was! No wonder the queue was so fast going.
We ordered both the black chicken ginseng soup and the normal one, and the waitress served us ginseng wine which we could drink it straight (which we almost did HAHA), or pour it into the soup itself.
3. Jajangmyeon
I always thought jajangmyeon is a chinese thing and you won't see it in Korea. But I was wrong, I see it everywhere!
Singapore's jajangmyeon are often found in handmade noodles stalls, and stall holders will use you mee to cook them, which are more fine compared to those in Korea.
I had this is Busan, just one road across the bullet train station, and it is very affordable (4.5kwon/bowl? )
The noodles are thick, the gravy was not too thick, which compliments the noodles. Oh and the noodles are chewy, which is something I like. Hahaha
We had pan fried dumplings to go along with the noodles. Delicious!
Hold on for part 2 guys. I can't finish all that we ate in one post, I'm hungry now and I want to have my dinner. Haha
Post cr: Doro/ bel/ cherie for itinerary.
Bel for photos
Till then, xx.
